GROUP EXERCISE: The West St. Tammany YMCA offers land, aqua, and indoor cycling (Spinning) classes for various levels and abilities. Our current class schedule includes: Zumba, Power Yoga, Pilates, Step, Kickboxing, Group Strength, Line Dancing, Silver Sneakers, BodyPump, BodyCombat, Barre, Yoga and Indoor Cycling. Indoor Cycling is a motivating, invigorating ride simulating hills and flats that integrates music, camaraderie, for a great calorie-burning workout. Group Exercise classes are open for ages 12 and up. All of our classes are led by certified instructors who focus on designing fun and challenging classes.
WELLNESS CENTER: Our wellness program offers a variety of cardio and strength exercise equipment including a 9-piece strength circuit. Our trained wellness staff is available to provide fitness orientations, and to educate members about equipment use and general exercise information. Through the Personal Fitness Program, our wellness coaches help members develop and maintain a 10 week exercise program This 10 week program is especially designed for the new exerciser and for those who have not been successful in maintaining a workout routine. Our trained coaches will provide the personal attention you need to be successful in your journey toward better health. This program has been proven to be a perfect introduction for the beginning, as well as to the experienced exerciser.
PERSONAL TRAINING: A YMCA certified personal trainer will design a customized one-on-one exercise regime for you based on your fitness goals and the results of your fitness assessment. Health and medical issues will be taken into consideration in the design of your workout plan. Your trainer will motivate and challenge you at every session. To ensure your success, your trainer will track your progress and make adjustments in your workout plan as necessary.
