Aquatics
By learning to swim, kids can develop lifelong skills that help them stay healthy and learn water safety. Other YMCA aquatics programs include infant-parent classes, adult swim lessons and water aerobics.

Child Care
Quality preschool, summer day camps and holiday camps offer your child the opportunity to participate in fun-filled programs that incorporate the core YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility to nurture healthy development. Daily activities may include swimming, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor play, skits, field trips and much more. All child care staff are carefully chosen for their leadership ability, their character and their ability to work with children. Staff are trained to provide safe, affordable, high-quality care and work together with parents to promote healthy childhood development. All of our childcare centers are either accredited or working towards accreditation by NAEYC.

Community Development
The YMCA is open to all regardless of ethnicity, age, gender, or income level. The Y provides a place to belong, joining a diverse group of people in a safe and positive environment. The YMCA partners with members, volunteers and other organizations to provide high-quality, affordable programming that serves the New Orleans community. The Y's community development efforts include adult and family literacy programs, family events, youth leadership development, post-Katrina revitalization and more.

Health and FItness
We are committed to an holistic approach to wellness involving mind, body and spirit. Our facilities offer a variety of cardio and weight training equipment as well as personal fitness and group exercise classes to serve the diverse needs and interests of members. The knowledgeable and caring staff are always available to provide individualized support.

Older Adults
The YMCA gives older adults the opportunity to stay physically active and socially involved. Senior fitness classes and social activities as well as volunteer opportunities enable seniors to make new friends and stay healthy while sharing their time and talents with others.

Youth Leadership
Through programs such as Youth and Government, Leaders Club and Counselor-in-Training, the YMCA provides a safe environment where teens can be healthy and active, express themselves, develop leadership skills and become engaged citizens. These programs build relationships among young people from diverse backgrounds as well as positive adult role models, encouraging young people to excel and avoid negative activities.

Youth Sports
Y Youth Sports, including t-ball, basketball and soccer, engage kids in positive physical activities while interacting with their peers and caring adults. Parent volunteer coaches incorporate YMCA core values – Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility – into the sports curriculum and emphasize teamwork, cooperation and fair play. The non-competitive, “no scores kept” approach awards all participants with a sense of achievement and success.
