After Hurricane Katrina, the YMCA of Greater New Orleans saw a need in Plaquemines Parish, a need for something far greater than a gym...there was a need for a place for the community to return, a place for people to gather and to heal. There was a need for a home away from home—a place where all ages, races, and religions could come together to get healthy, grow, and play.

Our modern facility provides opportunities to strengthen spiritual, mental and physical well-being. When you participate at the Y you join a community of people committed to achieving their fullest potential.

We're committed to ensuring that all members of our community have access to Y programs. Financial assistance is available to those who cannot afford the full cost of programs and membership.
